WELCOME MESSAGE

Dean Faculty of Nursing University Andalas

Dear Esteemed Participants ,

On behalf of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Andalas, it is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome you all to this the 5th Andalas International Nursing Conference (AINiC), hosted right here at our beloved campus. We are deeply honored by your presence and your commitment to advancing the frontiers of nursing science, practice, and education.

This year’s conference theme, "Empowering Professional Healthcare for Global Health Impact: Innovation in Education, Resilience and Sustainable Practices for Future Challenges", could not be more timely. As the global health landscape grows increasingly complex—facing the dual pressures of aging populations, chronic disease burdens, pandemics, and health inequities—nurses are called not only to respond, but to lead. Through innovation, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness, we can redefine how care is delivered and how resilience is built into health systems worldwide.

This conference brings together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students to share empirical findings, critical insights, and visionary approaches across diverse domains of nursing. From mental health to maternity care, from technology integration to community-based interventions, every session is designed to challenge assumptions, foster dialogue, and expand possibilities.

To our international guests—your participation enriches this forum and underscores the shared responsibility we carry as members of a global health community. To our students—this is your opportunity to learn, network, and envision the nurse you aspire to become. To our faculty and organizing committee—thank you for your dedication in realizing this academic gathering.

May this conference not only produce scholarly impact but also ignite collaborations that endure beyond today—because the true legacy of an event like this is not in the program, but in the partnerships and innovations it inspires.

With that, I formally declare the 5th Andalas International Nursing Conference (AINiC) at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Andalas, officially open. Thank you.

Warm Regards.

Dear Distinguished Guests, Honorable Speakers, Colleagues, and Friends,

Warm greetings from the organizing committee of the 5th Andalas International Nursing Conference (AINiC) 2025!

It is with great excitement and gratitude that we welcome you to this prestigious biennial event, proudly hosted by the Faculty of Nursing, Andalas University. AINiC serves as a vibrant forum for scholars, healthcare professionals, and students from around the globe to engage in meaningful dialogue, share innovations, and strengthen collaboration in the health sector.

Our theme this year, “Empowering professional health care for global health impact: innovation in education, resilience and sustainable practices for future challenges,” calls attention to the urgent need for transformation in healthcare. In the wake of global crises—to climate change—we must reimagine how we teach, practice, and sustain healthcare for future generations.

A key highlight of this year’s conference is the participation of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI)—one of the world’s leading authorities in evidence-based healthcare. We are deeply honored to welcome Associate Professor Craig Lockwood, Deputy Director of JBI, as one of our keynote speakers. JBI’s globally standardized approach to systematic reviews, evidence implementation, and clinical decision-making has shaped health policy and practice across continents. Assoc. Prof. Lockwood will share invaluable insights on translating research into actionable clinical practice—an essential step toward improving patient outcomes and strengthening healthcare systems worldwide.

JBI's presence at this conference underscores our commitment to academic rigor and practical relevance. Learning directly from a global leader in evidence synthesis is a rare and meaningful opportunity for all of us.

We are also proud to welcome other esteemed speakers:

Professor Hiba Wehbe Alamah, a student of Madeleine Leininger, who will share insights on addressing global health challenges through culturally competent care. Professor Yu-Yun Alice Hsu, who will explore multidisciplinary digital health research and its impact on healthcare quality. Associate Professor Kamsunapat Balthip, who will emphasize community engagement as a cornerstone of effective healthcare services. Professor Nelwati, who will highlight the importance of peer learning in strengthening nursing education. Together, we gather here not only to share knowledge, but to build a stronger, smarter, and more compassionate future for health care. Let this conference inspire collaboration, ignite innovation, and strengthen our shared vision of advancing global health.

Once again, welcome to AINiC 2025—where evidence meets action.

Warm Regards.
