Welcome to Jam Gadang
Jam Gadang is located in central Bukittinggi, a city in the Minangkabau Highlands of West Sumatra. It sits in the middle of the Sabai Nan Aluih Park, near the Ateh Market and palace of Mohammad Hatta.[1] The structure was built in 1926, during the Dutch colonial era, as a gift from Queen Wilhelmina to the city's controleur.[2][3] It was designed by architects Yazin and Sutan Gigi Ameh, reportedly at a cost of 3,000 guilder.[2] Originally a rooster figure was placed on the apex, but it was changed into a Jinja-like ornament during the Japanese occupation (1942–1945). Following Indonesian independence, the tower's top was reshaped to its present form, which resembles traditional Minang roofs (see Rumah gadang).[2] Local oral tradition holds that the internal mechanisms of the clock are twin to those of Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben) in London.[1] On March 6, 2007, the Jam Gadang tower was damaged by two earthquakes that struck western Sumatra. Over the following years it was refurbished by the Indonesia Heritage Trust (Badan Pelestarian Pusaka Indonesia). Funding for the 600 million rupiah (approximately 55 thousand Euros) restoration came from the Netherlands. The refurbished tower was inaugurated on December 22, 2010, as part of Bukittinggi's 262nd anniversary celebrations.[3] The Jam Gadang tower has been as an observation posts during fires, such as one that affected the Ateh Market. During Ramadhan, the call to prayer that marks the breaking of the fast is sounded from the tower.

Istana Pagaruyuang
Pagaruyung is a kingdom that once stood in Sumatra, the area contained in the province of West Sumatra now. The name of this kingdom referenced from tree names Nibung or Ruyung, [1] but it also can be referenced from inscriptions stamped seal of Sultan Tangkal Nature Bagagar of Pagaruyung, [2] ie in writing beraksara Jawi in the inner circle, which reads as follows: Sultan Tangkal Alam Bagagar ibn Sultan khalifatullah which has a throne in the country Pagaruyung Darul qarar Johan Sovereign Zillullāh fil 'nature. Padang Beach
Padang beach or popularly known as Taplau (stands but lauik, Minang language which means waterfront) is a beach located in the city of Padang, West Sumatra. [1] This beach is located on densely populated urban area in the district of Padang Barat, and stretches from the Purus up to the mouth of the Batang Arau. The beach is located approximately 23 km from Minangkabau International Airport or a 30-minute road trip by car. [2] He began in 2015, Padang Coast region includes 10 waste-free area protected by law No. 21 of 2012.

Danau Atas Danau Bawah
The lake is located in Solok, namely in Alahan Panjang.Danau consists of two lakes, Lake Above located on the roadside-Muara Padang Labuh while the other was located in the village below the lake fanning Sileh Bukit Jaya. There are five lakes here, Maninjau, Lake Batur, Lake Above, Below Lake, and Lake Talang. Except Maninjau, there are four other lakes in Solok. Therefore, Solok district is rich with lakes in West Sumatra. In fact, three lakes, namely Lake Above, Below Lake, and Lake Talang is located in an area called Twin Lakes Region.

Singkarak Lake
Lake Singkarak (Indonesian: Danau Singkarak) is a lake in West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is located between the cities of Padang Panjang and Solok. It has an area of 107.8 km², being approximately 21 km long and 7 km wide. The natural outlet for excess water is the Ombilin river which flows eastward to the Strait of Malacca. A hydroelectric project, however, has diverted most of the lake outflow to the Anai river which flows westward into the Indian Ocean near Padang. This Singkarak power station uses this water to generate power for the West Sumatra and Riau provinces. A species of fish called ikan bilih (Mystacoleucus padangensis) is endemic to the lake, and is harvested for human consumption. A railway line, which connects Padang and Sawahlunto-Sijunjung, skirts the length of the lake on the eastern side.

The Mentawai Islands are a chain of about seventy islands and islets off the western coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. Siberut at 4,030 square kilometres (1,556 square miles) is the largest of the islands. The other major islands are Sipura, North Pagai (Pagai Utara) and South Pagai (Pagai Selatan). The islands lie approximately 150 kilometres (93 miles) off the Sumatran coast, across the Mentawai Strait. The indigenous inhabitants of the islands are known as the Mentawai people.
